Two reveals today: Curbside find completes the Christmas porch, and the Beatles mug reveal…WHO WON the Chic-Fil-A gift card for coming the closest in guessing the price on the Beatles’ mug!

But before we get to that….

On my way last week to a Christmas party, I spied a pile of red wood on the side of the road. Running late I told myself I didn’t have time to stop and besides I was dressed in nice clothes and not my grubs. Only 2 blocks further and the junker in me won out. I was so glad I stopped because I found THIS (in pieces)!

Wooden Sleigh

All that was wrong with it…..

The only flaw

Nothing a little glue, wood scrap, and red paint won’t fix.

Don’t you love those curbside finds??

I’m really on the lookout for more discarded treasures. This week I thought I saw a ski…yeah I know…not much skiing in Alabama, right? Turned out it was the red reflector on someone’s mailbox post!

I love how this beautiful curbside find completes the Christmas porch! Thought I was through with decorating, but hey, there’s always room for one more, right??

Adding one of my little Christmas trees to dress it up…

And a little handcrafted sign I made out of scrap wood, paint, and glitter….

That’s my wish for you, dear friends! A very merry Christmas!

And now The Big Reveal!

From last week, I told how I saw this Beatles’ mug at a local antique shop and fell instantly in love…

It may not be authentic…

It may not be truly vintage…

But I don’t care!

It’s my favorite group in the whole wide world!

It’s the Beatles!

Diehard fans, check out this Beatles post….Hottest-yard-sale-buy/

I LOVED it! (Swoon & sigh…)

But not $89 worth!!!

Not even for the Beatles!!!!

For the closest guess at $85, the winner of the $10 Chic-Fil-A gift card is……….Carol from The Red Painted Cottage!

 Congratulations Carol!!!

Until next time~

Florence, I love, love curbside finds! Right now I’m hoping a cabinet will turn up on the side of the road and maybe some kids chairs. The red sleigh looks fantastic and yes there’s always room for one more especially when it’s super cute like this sleigh. The sign and Christmas tree are lovely details to add. I’m so glad that I wasn’t that far off on the mug, whew! Congrats to Carol for the win! 🙂 I hope you continue the guessing game, even if there’s no prize; it really was so much fun!!

Thanks Keri! I hope you run across the cabinet & kid’s chairs like you’re hoping to! People are cleaning out & that’s exactly what I’m going to be doing when Christmas is over. Thanks for the kind comments on the sleigh and sign. No, you weren’t far off on the price of the mug at all. In fact, you were the front runner when you made comments on it a while back! That’s when I said, “well, you never know.” I’m planning on doing more guessing games in 2017. In the meantime, have a great Christmas!

What a cute find. It was good you went back and checked it out. It looks good with the sign and tree. Maybe Santa Claus will bring you the mug, after all, Santa knows you love the Beatles. They were and still are the greatest, although I really like the Doors also. And you and I are dating ourselves, aren’t we? Merry Christmas.

Thanks for the kind comments on the sleigh! Aww, Santa won’t bring me the mug! In fact, I might have to fuss at Santa for paying so much for that if he was to buy it! Oh, I know I’m dating myself…that’s OK. Oh, I liked the Doors too. Hope you have a great Christmas Debra!

Thank you so much, Florence! What a lucky guess, truly! Something told me it was a ridiculous amount that I would never pay. I’ve seen new mugs that aren’t anything to speak of, going for $25 and $30, so I knew it was a lot more than that. Anyways, I love your curbside find. Having downsized and not having as much room, I would have liked to have stopped myself, but then I’d have to ask myself where would we store it? That question always kills my potential wants. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!
